February 5, 2020 I am back.
So here we are and i2pbote is no where to be working. I sent an
email to str4d, but it seems to have died in cyberspace. no response. I
also asked if bote can be fixed on irci2p and nothing. I posted on the
i2p forum and well you know nothing.
I downloaded the source code from git. I am now reading "Thinking inn Java", this is the book that is recommended to get started coding in Java. I have been trying to figure out what to do to fix bote. I have not found anything yet. I am not sure how hard or easy it is either.
Well we will see or I will see if I get anywhere...
February 4, 2020 What happened to me?
I ran out of time yesterday so I did not follow-up the "What's up
today?" entry. Well I still have not heard
anything about bote. I will keep this updated with what happens to this
issue. Maybe dev members should share knowledge with
each other, something cross training. It is not fair to the project,
users, and everyone interested in i2p to have
only one person know how to fix something.

Hi all. Well another day another... First things first. I made an
obvious change. New posts on top of the page.
I also added the date for each entry. Now that I am organized, let's
see what is going on today... Time ran out and I didn't post anymore.
INTRODUCTION
Well today I think we need to focus on getting more people to install and use i2p. It's time to go main stream. Tor move over, i2p is here and here to stay.So what to do to bring in more users. First, we need more help. Whatever you can do join us and do it. We have a need in any capacity possible. Donations are also needed since i2p is 100% reliant on donations.
Weak Projects
What's up with bote and TahoeLAFS? Seems that bote needs some fixing so it will work. Tahoe needs users. Seems to me that after reading the forum on bote, this problem has been around for a while. Is there a need for more volunteers?TahoeLAFS needs more users. Please set it up and use it. Strength is in number of users, just like i2p.
Here we go again
Well here I go again...I have been reading (I suggest everyone do this). Also checking some videos having to do with the i2p project and the concepts behind the network. My understanding of the network has gotten better, but still a beginner. Of course, the i2p technical documentation has a wealth of information.
So, what to do now? Well after looking at all the hype convincing perspective new users to come aboard, the reality is i2p falls short of the expectations. I don’t mean this in any bad way, just where is the fire, the ambition, the drive, the pride, and all other driving forces. I have been trying to get bote fixed, more users on tahoe, and more users in general. My intention is to light a fire under everyone's ass and get some blood pumping. Some work done. First and foremost we need more talent in the programming area. This I know because for some reason there is only one that can fix bote, yet it has not been fixed since at least 2018. That should be unacceptable for any project. Some have commented that may be he does not want to fix it, maybe he will fix it if you ask for the fix. I am sorry, but this is bullshit.. And for anyone else that has any love for i2p and any pride in this technology it should be bullshit too.
I have posted to the #tahoe-lafs irc channel many times and have received two responses. And the attitude is well that's the way it is. I am talking about at least two responses in one year. I hope this starts to get the i2p community thinking and motivated to make this long running, far behind any schedule project going again.
Please don’t get me wrong,, I love i2p and the people behind it. I just think all have become complacent.
The million dollar question, why I don't help with the programming efforts? Well, as much shit as I talk, I am just a dumbass. I can't code and am learning as I go. But I do know that this project is great and can be way better.
