I'm Michael Van Delft, an IT security enthusiast from Western Australia and this is my personal blog.

I enjoy learning new technologies with a particular love of Linux, cryptography, security and open source technology.

I'm currently working for the Western Australian Government doing sysadmin things. Outside of work very involved with the Perth Linux User Group (PLUG) I was president in 2015, Secretary for 2016 and am acting as a Committee Member for 2017. I'm an active member of Linux Australia. I was one of the core organisers (treasurer) of linux.conf.au, a 5 day conference attracting over 500 delegates and 100 speakers that was held in Perth in 2014. I am also a member of The Information Technology Professionals Association (ITPA) previously called SAGE-AU.
